​John Simmons

Artist

I was born in Canton, Ohio, but have spent most of my life in the south - primarily in Tennessee and Florida (but now I have retired to Travelers Rest, South Carolina). 

I studied art at Berea College and then went to graduate school at Louisiana State University. For most of my professional career I was the head of the art program at Lee University (in Cleveland, TN). 

I have been married to my wife, Kathy, for 52 years and we have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. 

When I am not in my home studio, I love trout fishing and spending time in the mountains.
