FERRIC CHLORIDE CERAMICS (Not food safe)
Ferric chloride process: After bisque firing, the piece is given two coats of liquid ferric chloride by pouring.  After drying, the piece is wrapped in heavy duty tin foil and fired to about 1250 degrees. The fuming of the acid causes the colors.  After cooling, the piece is given two coats of varnish as a protectorate.  These pieces are for purely decorative use.
